    Having trained in a large London law firm and having spent all her post qualification years as an employment solicitor in private practice and as an independent consultant, Samantha is a specialist in employment law.

    Samantha prides herself in providing practical, commercial advice to employers, supporting and advising on transactional work such as restructuring, redundancies and TUPE issues, as well as helping employers navigate the other intricacies of a fast-changing area of the law to avoid employment claims, or if involved at a later stage, to assist in defending and settling claims, as appropriate.

    Equally, Samantha has expertise in assisting employees at all levels with contentious and non-contentious employment matters ranging from advising on discrimination, unfair dismissal, redundancy and breach of contract claims, to assisting with employment termination.

    Samantha has a particular interest in assisting with settlement agreements and the negotiation of terms on termination of employment, whether on behalf of the employer or employee. Having had significant experience of advising both employers and employees, Samantha’s insight and deeper understanding into the perspectives of employers and employees allows her to guide clients more successfully to their desired outcomes. Samantha is passionate about achieving the best result she can for each and every one of her clients.

    Samantha is also an ADR accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator.


    Some recent highlights include:

    Advising a senior employee of a large bank with a disability discrimination claim, leading to a considerable out of court settlement;
    Assisting an employee with ACAS Early Conciliation, and an Employment Tribunal Claim form for a race and disability discrimination claim in the Employment Tribunal and negotiating a significantly improved financial settlement before the final hearing;
    Assisting a franchisee with employment due diligence and employee liability information and TUPE support when investing in multiple sites and acquiring employees at each site;
    Assisting a medium-sized employer with drafting a redundancy policy and guiding them through the process from pooling and selection to making employees redundant following a fair and reasonable process.
